Bon Jovi "Because We Can" Tour 2013: Karma & Rumors

There are many Bon Jovi fans caught up in the recent news and rumors surrounding group guitarist, Richie Sambora, and the reasons why the top flight talented lead player has taken "leave" from the Because We Can Tour.   Although Sambora is integral to the bands' live sound and image, Bon Jovi enthusiasts should not worry.

As rock and roll history dictates, there are several reasons why important band members remove themselves from an active tour and/or agree to have the band create the publicity message for its fans about the reasons a band member takes time off.  There are many Bon Jovi fans that believe this is going to be a short term exit for Richie Sambora.  These Jersey boys always have been supportive of eachother and generous on important issues too, such as Super Storm Sandy Relief contributions and an infamous free concert at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut during a blizzard.

Let it Show! Let it Show! Let it Show! Bon Jovi rehearsed for their Because We Can Tour in February 2013 at Mohegan Sun in a week-long empty arena, while the northeast was bracing for a two-foot snowstorm forecast.  The timing of the blizzard was unfavorable, as the storm was on course to ruin opening night of that much anticipated tour.  As echoes of thumping bass sounds and drums reverberated throughtout the casino during their rehearsals, Bon Jovi brushed up on hits such as: "'Livin' on a Prayer," "Wanted Dead or Alive," and "It's My Life" during the week long Arena practices.  Then the inevitable news finally broke early Saturday, February 23rd - BON JOVI "CANCELLED."

For many fans, this was the beginning of dissapointment and a long wait.  Mohegan Sun Arena and Bon Jovi rescheduled the show for Friday, October 25th.  A live concert that was scheduled to kick-off Because We Can Tour 2013 suddenly became the closing show of the tour.  For those that braved the blizzard conditions on that day in February 2013, Bon Jovi made a surprise and unscheduled impromptu appearance and performed an hour or so in the Mohegan Sun Wolf Den to a thrilled crowd of fans and casino employees.

So for those who are troubled by the latest rumors about Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, or any other rumors about this treasured band, remember this: good rock and roll karma, as always, seems to find its way back to those who give and contribute.   The support to Hurricane Sandy area relief and victums, and the infamous free blizzard  concert at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut are what Bon Jovi is all about.
